Jamie 4 President nos regala “Cobwebs”, un adelanto de su nuevo álbum “It Bites”, el quinto en su trayectoria hasta la fecha, nuevamente de la mano del sello barcelonés BCore.
La formación compuesta por Jamie R.Green (voz, guitarra), Pablo Gonzalez (batería) y Borja Pérez (bajo) regresa con una pieza icónica, representativa de su sonido ya que conserva las efervescentes melodías de bandas como Teenage Fanclub, The Shins o Guided By Voices, con el toque íntimo al estilo Elliott Smith o los primeros Death Cab for Cutie.
A diferencia de sus obras anteriores, “Cobwebs” se viste con los sintetizadores propios de los años 80 y una producción más audaz, cortesía de Santi García, con quien vuelven a unir fuerzas.
Nos cuenta Jamie: “ Mi demo original era solo acústica y voz, pero en el estudio le dimos una dimensión mucho más expansiva, imaginándonos cómo sonaría en una película de nuestra infancia. La letra habla de seguir nuestro propio camino a pesar de los obstáculos que se presenten y de perseguir lo que realmente importa en la vida. Además, también aborda el hecho de que las resacas duelen cada vez más”.

They’ll always tell you life is what you make it. That don't mean you’ve got to sit there and just take it, and soak up all the bullshit they throw at you. The end result is always disillusion, overeducated and no contribution. Resenting all the lies that they sold to you.
It’s easy to procrastinate, the writing’s on the wall. I’m still waiting for what’s mine but they don’t call.
And through the corner of my eye I see my future waving me goodbye. Blame it on life’s cruel design.
We used to be convinced the world was ours, now Sunday’s even hurt to take a shower but come next Friday night we’ll go start anew. So hang your hopes and dreams on something real, turn your back on the frustration that you feel. Embrace that life with someone you did pursue.
