Jamie 4 President nos ayudan a combatir la melancolía propia del final del verano con este “My Lucky Token”, segundo adelanto de su inminente quinto álbum de estudio, que saldrá en octubre nuevamente de la mano del sello barcelonés BCore, en coedición con sellos nacionales como La Agonía de Vivir, Pifia Recs, CGTH Records e internacionales como Waterslide Recs (Japón).
El tema mantiene el buen hacer melódico del conjunto liderado por Jamie R.Green, pero al contrario del primer single “Cobwebs”, que se arropaba con sintetizadores y un inconfundible aroma de los 80, “My Lucky Token” nos transporta a los mejores 90 con una base rítmica arrolladora y un estribillo emocionante y lleno del fuzz guitarrero característico de otra banda de Jamie, los ya desaparecidos Wild Animals. Nos cuenta él mismo: “El tema se compuso en realidad poco después de sacar el disco anterior, en aquellos días oscuros de la pandemia, solo en casa durante tres meses en 35 metros cuadrados. Cuando fuimos a grabarlo para este disco, retoqué la letra para que fuera algo más atemporal. Musicalmente es de las más “old-school” del disco, fuera de algún toque de producción, y nos gustó así”.
